Come il best-seller di Nick Hornby, il libro intreccia la storia della squadra rossonera alle varie fasi dell'esistenza del protagonista, che cresce nella periferia milanese ed iniziato al mestiere del tifoso dal padre e dai nonni.
E insieme alla Dea Bendata, al Dio Calcio ed ai suoi Comandamenti, da Rivera si giunger a Nesta, dall'infanzia alla maturit, attraverso vicende famigliari, politica, amori ma anche drammi.
Il calcio, quindi, come specchio delle nostre debolezze e passioni.
Il calcio come compagno di vita.
Trentacinque anni di episodi calcistici e privati, ma anche di vita italiana e non solo.
Nel fluire del racconto, infatti, l'autore inserisce costantemente riferimenti al costume e alla cronaca, dal caso Moro all'11 settembre.
Fino ad un ultimo, attualissimo, interrogativo: come pu, un tifoso di sinistra, tenere ancora per il suo Milan? Il libro, dunque, ci trascina in una continua Invasione di campo tra piani narrativi diversi.
Intelligente e spiritoso, si presta facilmente alla lettura: flash, dissolvenze, linguaggio immediato (nel quale trova spazio anche il dialetto) sono alla base dell'accattivante stile del romanzo e creano un incedere jazzistico che conquista il lettore.
Il supporter milanista di ogni et, innanzitutto, portato a sfogliare il testo come un album, un succedersi di sensazioni da rivivere.
O l'appassionato che, al di l del club di appartenenza, potr identificarsi nei Riti e nelle Scaramanzie di quell'ultima rappresentazione sacra del nostro tempo che il calcio.
Ed infine chi, anche se estraneo al furore calcistico, si trover inevitabilmente coinvolto nelle esperienze della generazione del protagonista.

Bright and humorous, this book is easily suitable for reading: flashes, fadings, direct language (where the dialect finds room too) are the grounds of the engaging style of this book and create a jazz gait that conquers the reader.
